October 13 & 14: Protect Your Four-Legged Friends – Huge Turnout for Rabies Day at West Acres

We opened our field updates this week with a deeply inspiring community health initiative. On Tuesday, October 13, the parking lot at West Acres Shopping Centre turned into a bustling hub of community care as local pet owners arrived in numbers for the official Rabies Day Vaccination Drive.

The Go-To Guy was on the ground (with video coverage produced by Pieter Conradie) to capture the incredible spirit of collaboration between local veterinarians, municipal health organizers, volunteers, and sponsor West Acres Shopping Centre, who all worked seamlessly to keep our city's dogs safe and vaccinated against rabies.

Key Guidelines & Drive Highlights:

The massive turnout proved once again how deeply Potchefstroom residents care for their animals. A huge thank you to every team member and pet owner who stepped up to ensure a rabies-free community!

October 14: Critical Infrastructure Alert – Road Closure at Potch Industria Interchange Bridge

On Wednesday, October 14, The Go-To Guy issued an urgent traffic notification for all local motorists and regional commuters traveling between Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom, and Johannesburg.

The bridge over the Potch Industria Interchange (including all connecting on-ramps and off-ramps) has officially been closed in BOTH directions. This major structural infrastructure project will keep the bridge closed through to 27 November 2026.
