Olympic Medallist Bradley Nkoana Returns to Inspire Potch Boys' High Matrics at Valedictory
The ceremony marked the matrics' final academic day before the National Senior Certificate examinations begin, and the school used it to recognise the achievements of the Class of 2026. For the boys in the hall, the message came from two people who once sat in the same seats.
Two Old Boys with a message
The guest speaker was Busang Obakeng Molekane, founder and chairperson of Athletes in Need (AIN), who shared words of encouragement with the Grade 12s. He was joined by sprinter Bradley Nkoana, who won an Olympic silver medal at the 2024 Games.
The school said having such distinguished alumni return to motivate the matrics made the final high school ceremony of their careers unforgettable.
A last day before the exams
Prize Giving and Valedictory is traditionally the moment a school closes the academic chapter for its matrics. From here, the Grade 12s turn their full attention to the final examinations.
"To our Grade 12s, as you step into your final exams, remember that your journey is just beginning. Go out there and shine!" the school wrote.
What this means for you
For matric families, the next few weeks are all about study time, rest and support at home. Parents can follow the school's Facebook page for exam-period notices, and the wider Potch Boys' High community can keep the Class of 2026 in their thoughts as the papers begin.
