Making Room to Create and Reflect
Taking time out from the daily rush can be hard to manage. On Saturday, 14 November 2026, Woordkafee hosts its "Healing Through Creativity" gathering at Snowflake, offering people a chance to step away from routine and focus on faith, reflection and fellowship.
The event runs from 08:30 to 14:00. The core idea is simple: creativity is not reserved for trained artists, but serves as a practical way to pray, process life and take a breather.

Five Workshops to Choose From
Participants can pick three sessions from a lineup of five different creative activities, each run by a local facilitator with its own focus:

  • Origami with Aldi Coetzee: Centred on the theme of obedience (GeHOORsaam), this session uses paper folding to reflect on listening and following instructions with intention.
  • Clay Art with Annalie van Vuuren: Working under the theme "In the Master's Hands", participants work directly with clay, using the material as a physical prompt to think about being shaped by God.
  • Kinusaiga with Jeannie Keyser: This traditional Japanese fabric craft involves tucking scraps of material into a foam base to produce an image, showing how loose pieces fit together into a whole.
  • Mixed Media Art with Corli Swart (Laslap Kwilt): Titled "God Makes Me New", this activity uses old newspaper, fabrics and beads to build a layered artwork focused on renewal and identity.
  • Mug Painting with Lize-Marie Loubser: Under the theme "My Cup Overflows", attendees paint a ceramic coffee mug while reflecting on everyday blessings.
How the Day Runs
The schedule covers three separate time slots during the morning. All five activities run concurrently, allowing people to rotate through the three workshops they select.

No prior artistic background is required. The sessions are designed so anyone can sit down, work with their hands and take part at their own pace.

Practical Details and Booking
Tickets are R330 per person. That covers admission to the three chosen workshops, along with two drink vouchers valid for coffee, cappuccino, water or a cooldrink at Recharge Coffee Co. Food is available on the side from Pizzamore at attendees' own cost.

Because workshop capacity is capped to keep things manageable, booking in advance is required. To reserve a place, contact Woordkafee directly on 082-403-5130 via phone or WhatsApp, or send an email to woordkafee@gmail.com.
