JB Marks Shuts Off Ventersdorp Water Supply to Install New Pump Station Motor
The municipality says the work at the Ventersdorp Water Pump Station required both the electricity and the water supply to be switched off. The notice was issued to explain the interruption and to give residents an idea of when water would return.
Why the supply was off
According to the notice, the Water and Sanitation team had to switch off the electricity supply on Thursday 24 September 2026 so that it could complete the installation of a new motor at the pump station.
The water supply was also temporarily shut down to allow the necessary repairs to be completed.
When it was expected back
The municipality said water supply was expected to be restored later on Thursday 24 September 2026. The notice did not give a specific time.

What this means for you
If your taps are still dry or pressure is low, allow some time for the system to fill up again after the pump station is back in operation, and keep some water stored in case of further delays.
