JB Marks Diverts Traffic on Promosa Road for Paving Works Until 23 October
The municipality's Roads and Stormwater Section says the diversion is needed so that planned paving work on Promosa Road can be done safely. Anyone who travels between town, the Bult and Promosa or Mohadin during the next two weeks will need to use one of two alternative routes.
The alternative routes
The municipality has set out two detours, depending on where motorists are coming from.
- From the town centre: use Lekhele Street towards Mogolodi Street to reach Promosa and Mohadin.
- From the Bult: use Chief Albert Luthuli Street and continue along Allen Hendricks Street to reach Promosa.
When the work takes place
- Start: Monday 12 October 2026
- End: Friday 23 October 2026
Temporary traffic management and road signs will be in place for the whole construction period to guide motorists and protect road users and construction workers.
Why the road is being paved
The municipality says the work is part of its ongoing effort to improve road infrastructure, with the aim of safer and more accessible roads for residents.
What this means for you
If you use Promosa Road, plan for the detour and allow extra travel time until 23 October. The municipality asks motorists to drive carefully, obey the temporary road signs and follow the instructions of traffic officers in the area.
