Springbok Women Partner with Project Flamingo to Launch "Make Room for Her" Health Campaign
The campaign draws a parallel between the team’s struggle for recognition on the rugby field and the challenges women face accessing timely healthcare
Central to the initiative is a rugby-inspired health call-to-action urging women to practice monthly body awareness:
TOUCH: Check breasts monthly to establish what is normal
. PAUSE: Notice any physical changes without ignoring them
. ENGAGE: Consult a healthcare professional or visit a local clinic
.

To mark the launch, Springbok Women players Babalwa Latsha, Nadine Roos, Insaaf Levy, and Chumisa Qawe, alongside international referee Aimee Barrett-Theron, visited the breast clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town
Founded in 2010, Project Flamingo collaborates with public state hospitals and volunteer specialists to reduce delays in breast cancer diagnosis and surgical treatment

The initiative is supported by SA Rugby and corporate sponsor Engen
Through community engagement and health advocacy, the partnership seeks to turn public awareness into actionable, life-saving care across South African communities
