Top of the Class: Curro Klerksdorp Names Its Term 3 Academic and Merit Achievers
The two lists recognise two different kinds of excellence. The academic list rewards marks in the classroom, while the merit list honours learners who represented the school in sport, culture, leadership and service. Together they give parents a clear picture of who set the pace at the high school this term.
The top academic performers per grade
The school said the achievers' results reflect hard work, discipline, perseverance and a commitment to academic excellence, and that they set a high standard for their fellow learners.
- Grade 8: 1. Joseph Chahine, 2. Reatlegile Naledi Mphikwa, 3. Awande Onkabetse Tshoni
- Grade 9: 1. Paballo Molebatsi, 2. Tushar Nikeel Morar, 3. Bahira Bhaimia
- Grade 10: 1. Jean-Luc Muissa Mputela, 2. Oreratile Khalema, 3. Mianda Hope Mbonda

Merit beyond the classroom
The merit list covers Grades 8 to 12 and honours learners whose dedication and commitment beyond the classroom reflect what the school calls the spirit of excellence. Several names, including Grade 8's Joseph Chahine, appear on both lists.
"Your hard work, teamwork, and perseverance continue to inspire your peers to become well-rounded learners," the school wrote.
