Seventy Years of Schoonies: Hoërskool Schoonspruit Plans a Legendary Makietie for 21 November
The school is calling on parents, past pupils and the wider Schoonie family to buy tickets for its 70th anniversary celebration. Billed as "70 years of stories, 70 years of memories", the evening is also a chance for the community to meet the school's new principal, Mr R. van Staden.
Music, rugby and a braai
According to the school's poster, singer Richann Brüssow will perform before kick-off, and the event's poster features the Springboks taking on Ireland, so supporters can expect the rugby to be part of the evening. Each ticket includes a commemorative SHS 70 braai plank with side dishes, and children can enjoy jumping castles.

With the school marking seven decades, the poster notes that special arrangements can be made for reunion groups. Former Schoonies planning to attend with their matric class can contact the school to arrange this.
