National Champion: Milner High School’s Ofentse Setlhabetsi Tops the SA Gymnastics Championships
Milner High School in Klerksdorp has a national champion in its ranks. On 7 October 2026 the school announced that Grade 10 learner Ofentse Setlhabetsi placed first overall at the South African Gymnastics Championships held the previous week. For a school that rarely makes sporting headlines, it is a result to shout about.
Six medals and the top spot
According to the school, Ofentse finished the championships with what it called an impressive medal haul. His medals across the apparatus added up to an overall first place in his section.
- Gold: 2
- Silver: 4
- Overall: 1st at the South African Gymnastics Championships
Keep reaching for the top
The school said it is extremely proud of Ofentse and encouraged him to keep reaching for the top. The post did not say where the championships were held or which apparatus produced the gold medals, and the school has promised more photos.
