Medal Haul in Paarl: Klerksdorp Hoërskool Athletes Win 27 Medals at North vs South Meeting
The meeting pitted athletes against what the school called some of the best, and the school congratulated its team on a big medal haul against top opposition. Medals came across the track, the jumps and the throws.
Javelin leads the gold rush
Three of Klerksdorp Hoërskool's eight gold medals came in the javelin, through Altu Wiggett, Ruhan Dreyer and Lehanke Beets. Unity Macklein won gold in the 800 m and added silver in the 400 m, while Brian van Heerden and Chanté Fourie each collected two medals in the middle-distance and distance events.
The under-19 girls' 4 x 100 m relay team of Jané van der Berg, Lamoni Coetzer, Ava Tannous and Zoey Gracie took bronze.
