Matlosana Registers Title Deeds for Old Stock Houses in Alabama Extension 1 and 2
The City of Matlosana's Directorate of Planning and Human Settlements is running a two-day title deed registration drive for old stock houses in Alabama Extension 1 and 2. A title deed is the legal proof that a house belongs to its owner, and registration is the step that puts the property in the resident's name.
Who can register
The municipality has published a list of eligible house numbers for Alabama Extension 1 and Alabama Extension 2, and asks residents to check whether their house number is included before they go. The list is attached to the municipality's Facebook post.
The notice names Cllr Portia Mtshawulana, MMC for Planning and Human Settlements, and Cllr FI Tagaree, the Ward 03 councillor.
When and where
- Dates: Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 September 2026
- Time: 09:30 to 15:30
- Venue: Alabama Community Hall
What to bring
To register for a title deed, residents need to bring the following documents:
- A copy of your ID
- A copy of your spouse's ID
- Your marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Birth particulars or certificates of your dependants

What this means for you
If you live in Alabama Extension 1 or 2, check the published list for your house number and gather your documents before heading to the community hall. The municipality encourages residents to be available during the registration days.
