Hoërskool Schoonspruit Appoints Mrs Slabbert and Mrs Badendorst as Departmental Heads
Departmental heads play a central role in a high school, guiding the teachers in their subject areas and shaping what happens in the classroom. Hoërskool Schoonspruit shared the news of two new appointments with its "Schoonie-familie" at the start of the last week of the third term.
Two new leaders in the staffroom
The school congratulated Mrs S. Slabbert and Mrs M. Badendorst on their appointments as departmental heads, with a personal message for each: "Ons Schoonies is trots! Mag jy nog baie mooi hoogtepunte beleef!" (We Schoonies are proud! May you experience many more wonderful highlights!)
The subject departments each will lead were not specified in the announcement.
A new season for the school
In its post, the school wished both new departmental heads every success in what it called a new and beautiful season. It said it hoped they would lead with wisdom, passion and dedication, and continue building, together with the Schoonie family, a future the school can be proud of.
The message closed with the school's motto, "Werk, Dien, Lewe" (Work, Serve, Live).
The appointments come in a period of change at the school, which recently said farewell to its former principal, Mrs Anca Swart.
What this means for you
Parents and learners can expect the new departmental heads to take up their leadership roles as the school heads into the fourth term, which is also exam season for most grades.
Messages of congratulations can be left on Hoërskool Schoonspruit's Facebook page.
