Golden Catch: Laerskool Goudkop's Lee-Ann Bothma Wins With National Under-13 Angling Team

Laerskool Goudkop in Klerksdorp has a national champion in its ranks. Lee-Ann Bothma spent the last days of September fishing for the national SAVOF under-13 girls' team, and the school says she came home with a gold medal and a top-five individual finish.

Five days on the water in Bloemhof

The tournament ran from 26 to 30 September at Bloemhof. The school says conditions were extremely challenging, but Lee-Ann performed very well throughout the five days.

Team gold and fifth place overall

At the end of the tournament, Lee-Ann and her team were crowned overall winners. She also finished fifth in the overall individual rankings, a strong result in a field made up of national team anglers.
