Festive Programme at Hooves of Hope Riding School
The school holidays are around the corner, and Hooves of Hope Riding School in Klerksdorp has lined up a series of morning sessions designed to get children outdoors and spending time around horses.
The initiative runs across two slots this December: first on 10 and 11 December, followed by a five-day stretch from 14 to 18 December. Each session starts at 08h30 and wraps up at 12h30, giving parents a four-hour window while youngsters get their hands dirty at the stables.
What the Mornings Involve
Rather than standard riding lessons, the schedule mixes horse handling with holiday-themed downtime. Children will take turns on pony rides, try their hand at obstacle courses, and watch mini pony demonstrations put together by the yard.
Off the saddle, the stable is setting up:
- Arts and crafts stations focused on horse gear and festive keepsakes
- A dedicated photo spot where kids can pose alongside the horses against a Christmas backdrop
- A picnic lunch break toward the end of the morning
The idea is to give children a chance to learn the ropes of being around horses in a relaxed, steady setting without the pressure of formal training.
Practical Details and Booking
The cost is R350 per child per day. Group sizes are capped each morning to keep the yard manageable and to make sure the ponies are not overworked, so children will need to be booked in advance rather than simply turning up at the gate.
Parents looking to secure a place or ask about requirements can reach the riding school team directly on WhatsApp or mobile at 084-614-1288.
