Another Wessie on the National Stage: Wesvalia Golfer Joshua Gurschler Makes SA High Schools Team
Wesvalia shared the news under the line "Nog 'n Wessie tot nasionale vlak", or "another Wessie to national level", a nod to the string of learners from the school who have earned national recognition this year. Joshua's selection puts the Klerksdorp school on the national golf stage.
From provincial week to the national side
According to the school, Joshua played his way into contention at the provincial week, where he finished in the top 12 golfers of the tournament. That result earned him a place in the SA High Schools team and the chance to compete at national level.
"Ons bars van trots," the school wrote, which means "we are bursting with pride."
Part of a proud sporting term
Joshua's selection comes in the same week that Wesvalia's archers travelled to Jeffreys Bay for the national archery championships as North West champions. The school files its sporting news under the hashtag #wessiegreatness.
- Learner: Joshua Gurschler, Hoërskool Wesvalia
