Grappling for Gold: Three Laerskool Fochville Wrestlers Head to the SA Championships
The school sent its three wrestlers off with a message of support on 1 October 2026, the day before the national championships began. Reaching a South African championship is a big step for primary school wrestlers, and Fochville has three learners on the mat this weekend.
Three Fochville wrestlers on the national mat
Adolf Nortje, Andrigh Nortje and Raynard van Vuuren are taking on the best young wrestlers in the country at the South African Wrestling Federation (SAWF) Junior and Presidents Championships.
The school urged the boys to fight hard, enjoy every moment and fly the school's flag with pride. "Ons staan agter julle! Sterkte, seuns!" the post read, which means "we stand behind you, good luck, boys."
