Traditional Bavarian Spirit Meets Festival Hype: Velvet Sounds Oompah Band Set for the Main Stage at Bult Oktoberfest 2026
The renowned Velvet Sounds Oompah Band is locked in to headline the Main Stage, bringing traditional German carnival music, lively brass, and timeless beer-fest energy to Potchefstroom.
Authentic Bavarian Magic on the Main Stage
Since forming in 2000, Velvet Sounds Oompah Band has become one of the premier traditional entertainment acts in the country.
By blending original German folk melodies, polka rhythms, and horn-heavy brass arrangements with crowd-favorite singalongs, they deliver a signature show that bridges classic heritage with pure modern festival gees.
Performing on the Main Stage alongside acts like Ivan Roux, Ryk Kleinhans, and Wanderlust, Velvet Sounds serves as the cultural heart of Bult Oktoberfest. Whether driving traditional games like Masskrugstemmen (steinholding) or leading thousands in beer-raising toasts (Ein Prosit), their performance ensures Cachet Park feels like an open-air beer hall in Munich.
