Thirty-Five Years of Printmaking on Show at Aardklop
Johannesburg-based community printmaking centre, Artist Proof Studio, is marking its 35th anniversary this year with a visual arts exhibition running as part of the Momentum Aardklop programme.
The exhibition runs from 29 September to 3 October at the NWU Gallery First Floor, with daily opening hours from 09:00 to 17:00. Entry to the gallery is free.

Mentorship, Technique and Collaboration
Since its inception in 1991, Artist Proof Studio has focused on fine-art printmaking, technical education, and mentorship. The centre provides practical training and support to art students from South Africa and across the continent, helping emerging talent transition into professional careers.
A key part of the studio's model involves pairing artists with master printmaking technicians. Through these collaborations, the organisation facilitates studio projects, research, and exhibitions that allow artists to experiment with technical processes and produce new bodies of work.
Over three and a half decades, a number of well-known South African artists have trained, exhibited, or collaborated with the studio. These include:
Nelson Makamo
Mary Sibande
Hlavutelo Ngobeni
Lebohang Motaung
Hoek Swaratlhe
Sizwe Khoza
