Restoring Dignity at Nine: How Katleho Motswasele Is Transforming Her Community

At just nine years old, Katleho Motswasele is proving that age is no barrier to creating meaningful, lasting change. Fueled by a passion for restoring dignity and spreading hope, the young changemaker has dedicated herself to uplifting those around her through hands-on community service and compassionate advocacy.

Restoring Hope and Dignity

Katleho’s mission began with a simple act of giving: collecting pre-loved clothing from donors and distributing it to individuals and families facing hardship. Her outreach has brought comfort to numerous organizations, including:

• Hope of Glory Crèche

• Ikhaya La Bantwana Orphanage

• Thakaneng Child and Youth Care Centre

Beyond clothing drives, Katleho recognized a critical need among her peers. She assembled and distributed dignity packs containing essential personal care items to fellow schoolmates, ensuring that vulnerable learners can attend school with confidence and self-respect.

Leading by Example

Katleho’s impact extends to national platforms and personal development spaces. As a Little Miss Township South Africa 2026 finalist, she actively uses her platform to take a stand against bullying while championing kindness, respect, and inclusion. She strongly believes that every child deserves to feel valued, accepted, and loved regardless of their circumstances.

In addition to her advocacy, Katleho is a proud model with ACE Models Potchefstroom. Through modeling, she continues to develop her leadership skills, confidence, and self-expression, serving as a role model for youth across her community.
