A ferocious, high-octane second-half performance saw the South Africans overwhelm England 53-37 in an blockbusting semi-final at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi. Trailing 12-20 at halftime after a lukewarm and error-strewn opening stanza, the Junior Boks unleashed a devastating four-try blitz in the first 13 minutes of the second half to completely blow their rivals away.
A Frustrating Start and Red Card Drama
The opening 40 minutes were far from ideal for the defending champions. Handling errors, wrong tactical choices, and unforced mistakes, including a penalty kicked dead, prevented the South Africans from building any real momentum. England capitalized early with a try through Ollie Streeter, though the Junior Boks quickly hit back when Yaqeen Ahmed crashed over following a powerful surge by Ethan Adams.
