Community support and active rescue efforts continue to transform lives this month as several dogs search for permanent homes, critical sponsorship drives address ongoing medical needs, and local contributors step forward to supply essential resources.

• Polka & Dot: A pair of 12-week-old male brothers expected to grow into larger dogs.

• Winston: An estimated 2-year-old male Dachshund.

• Tiny Girl: A 7-week-old female Dachshund cross.

  

  Featured Rescues Seeking Permanent Placement

  Behind every shelter intake is a story of transition. Among the current rescues seeking adoptive families is Meeka, a 12-week-old Miniature Pinscher cross who arrived with a calm, gentle nature and a keen interest in playing ball.

  Joining him in the adoption queue is Mika, a 16-week-old female Swiss Shepherd recognizable by her prominent, upright ears, along with Polka and Dot—a pair of 12-week-old male brothers who are expected to grow into large-breed dogs.

  The shelter is also caring for Winston, an estimated 2-year-old male Dachshund currently waiting for his first adoption application, and a 7-week-old female Dachshund cross known simply as Tiny Girl, who was brought in requiring early-stage care.

  • Bella & Bonita van der Westhuizen: Young supporter Bella, alongside her mother Bonita, spearheaded a targeted food collection drive to restock the shelter's food pantry.

  • MC Mad Hornets: The local motorcycle club organized a charity ride dedicated to animal welfare, generating substantial financial contributions and physical supplies.

  • Emilia & Amelia: Pageant titleholders Emilia and Amelia (Face of Potchefstroom winners, mentored by Janet & Marinet Potgieter of JannyDjan Events) officially signed on as August sponsors, using their platform to champion animal welfare and encourage local youth involvement.
