The community is urgently asked to assist 11-year-old Letho, the sole survivor of a devastating vehicle collision on the N12 Fochville crossing. The tragic incident, which occurred on Sunday, 14 June, claimed the lives of four adults when an alleged drunk driver collided with their vehicle.

Letho is currently hospitalised in Krugersdorp, facing a long road to recovery. She sustained severe injuries, including fractures to her knee, leg, and wrist. Doctors have confirmed that she requires surgery and will remain in the hospital for the next eight to ten weeks.

The Urgent Need for Support

Beyond the physical and emotional trauma, all of Letho's personal belongings were destroyed in the crash. She has been left without any essential items for her extended hospital stay.

To alleviate the immense pressure on her grieving extended family, a community collection initiative has been launched to support her over the next ten weeks.

The community is requested to donate the following items:

A Message of Hope: Community members are highly encouraged to include a small, anonymous inspirational message, quote, or Bible verse with their donations. These will be compiled and delivered directly to Letho in the hospital.

Collection Logistics and Contacts

The first batch of essential items will be delivered on Monday morning to Commander Chaplain Michelle Nelson, who has been officially assigned to Letho’s case. All donated items will be carefully packed and managed from a central distribution point to ensure they reach her safely.

To respect the privacy of the minor and ensure the integrity of the ongoing police investigation, no further personal information regarding Letho can be released.

For any queries regarding drop-offs or how to contribute over the next ten weeks, please contact Annika Smith, who is coordinating all donations.
