July 27: Restoring Dignity – The Bophelo Ba Batho Pads Drive at Tshupane Primary School

We opened our weekly field coverage on Monday in Ikageng with a deeply moving, impact-driven community outreach initiative. The Bophelo Ba Batho Pads Drive made a vital stop at Tshupane Primary School to address an issue that directly impacts the education and self-esteem of young girls in our township.

At The Go-To Guy, we firmly believe that no young girl should ever be forced to miss school, fall behind in her studies, or lose her personal confidence simply because she lacks access to basic, essential sanitary supplies.

The drive was bolstered by a powerful partnership with the NWU Law Clinic, whose team stood side by side with local organizers to deliver supplies and offer encouragement to the young learners. By putting dignity first, this collaborative initiative is keeping local girls in the classroom where they belong, laying the groundwork for a brighter, more equitable future across Ikageng.

July 31: Monster Bakkies and Weekend Vibes at Kooperasie Kroeg & Kos

We closed out our local field coverage on Friday with an absolute feast for 4x4 enthusiasts and partygoers alike at Kooperasie Kroeg & Kos.

The heavyweights of Arwald Extreme arrived in Potchefstroom, parking their custom-built, off-road monster bakkies right outside the venue for an exclusive up-close showcase. Local petrolheads, families, and friends gathered on the patio to inspect the vehicle modifications, chat with the technical team from Arwald Extreme, and soak up the lively weekend atmosphere.

The evening featured the ultimate combination for a Friday night out:

• Gourmet Pub Food:Sizzling grills and hearty pub meals fresh from the kitchen.

• Ice-Cold Refreshments:Refreshing drinks flowing from the bar.

July 27: The Art of Building Dreams – Cindy Purén & Jean-Marc Stidworthy on Aardklop

In our first feature broadcast on Monday, host Cindy Purén was joined by Jean-Marc Stidworthy from North-West University (NWU) for an inspiring discussion on the transformative power of the arts.

They unpacked why the upcoming Momentum Aardklop National Arts Festival (29 Sept – 4 Oct 2026) remains an indispensable national stage for nurturing young creative talent, providing aspiring artists with a platform where their dreams can be realized.

July 27: Eisteddfod 2026 – De Wilge Brings "Candyland" Magic to Potch!

Later on Monday, we hosted a heartwarming feature with the passionate team from De Wilge Special School to discuss their upcoming Eisteddfod 2026, scheduled for 17 September 2026.

This year's theme is a vibrant, magical "Candyland", promise-filled with music, drama, fine arts, and pure imagination for every participating learner. However, to build an extraordinary stage and make this day truly unforgettable for the children, De Wilge is calling on the community for practical donations and support:

• Gumboots:Needed for stage performances and custom dance routines.

• Paint:Required to build and decorate the colorful "Candyland" stage sets and backdrops.

• Creative Props:Any art supplies, stage decorations, or costumes that can add extra magic to the day!
