Joint Operation Targets Non-Compliance Across Klerksdorp CBD, Lahoff, and Flimida

On Friday, 11 September 2026, the City of Matlosana conducted a joint law enforcement operation across the CBD, Lahoff, and Flimida. The initiative focused on enforcing municipal by-laws, inspecting health and safety standards, curbing illegal business operations, and addressing overdue municipal accounts. Inspections revealed multiple businesses operating without meeting basic fire safety regulations and hygiene standards, leading officials to confiscate goods deemed unfit for human consumption. Furthermore, teams identified and disconnected illegal electrical connections, while several businesses with delinquent accounts were flagged.

In the CBD, officers discovered a residential property illegally functioning as a scrapyard, alongside other suspected unlawful operations, and promptly closed the site. The property owner fled the scene and is actively being sought by law enforcement. Concurrently, traffic officers conducted road safety enforcement along OR Tambo Road, executing 15 warrants of arrest for outstanding traffic fines while reminding drivers and pedestrians to adhere strictly to road regulations.
