Laerskool Saamtrek Celebrates 18 Old Samies Elected to High School Learner Councils
Laerskool Saamtrek in Klerksdorp is beaming with pride after 18 of its former learners, now in Grade 11, were elected to the learner councils (Leerlingraad) of three local high schools. The primary school shared the news on its Facebook page this week, congratulating each of its "oud-Samies".
The school says the leadership, character and values these learners took with them from Saamtrek are what make the news so heart-warming. Three of them have landed top positions, including a head boy and a council chairperson. Saamtrek wished them all well as they lead "with pride, integrity and wisdom".

Why It Matters
- It is a strong sign of the foundation a primary school lays: 18 old Samies across three high schools in one year's council elections.
