The ART-IST Collective is presenting a visual arts exhibition as part of this year’s Momentum Aardklop program. Running from 29 September to 3 October at the NWU Gallery, the showcase features work aimed at bridging gaps in the creative sector while giving art lovers direct access to original pieces.

Redefining How Fine Art Meets the Market

Formed as an artist-led initiative, the collective focuses on tackling structural challenges within the contemporary arts space. By creating direct platforms for artists to display, market, and sell their work, the group aims to make owning original art far more reachable for everyday collectors and casual buyers alike.

The initiative connects artists, curators, collectors, and the public through collaborative projects. It gives both emerging talent and established names dedicated space to exhibit outside traditional gallery constraints.

Featured Talent on Display

Visitors to the exhibition will see work from a varied roster of creators. Artists linked to the collective’s curatorial projects include Wonder Buhle Mbambo, Dane “DaneStops” Knudsen, Sthenjwa Luthuli, Harry Lock, and Lusanda Ndita.

The range of work reflects the group’s focus on supporting different mediums and creative styles under one roof.
