Residents seeking assistance or experiencing issues with their indigent applications and subsidy benefits are directed to the Finance Offices in Klerksdorp. The operating hours are established as follows:

Notice of Event Postponement in Khuma
The municipality issued an advisory regarding the North West Milestones of Freedom Launch. Originally scheduled for 10 September 2026 at the Phil Masinga Stadium Hall in Khuma, Stilfontein, the event has been postponed. The local authority noted that a revised date for the launch will be announced at a later stage.

Urban Beautification and Anti-Littering Enforcement
Public space enhancement efforts were recently executed along Voortrekker Street, where beautification and clearing teams completed upgrades to improve the area's visual appeal. Launch of SMMEs Grant Funding Applications for 2026/2027
The Local Economic Development (LED) Directorate announced the opening of the application process for the 2026/2027 SMMEs Grant Funding. The programme provides financial support to operational Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and Co-operatives within the municipality.
Key Programme Details:
Application Window: Opened on 11 September 2026 and closes at 12:00 on 30 September 2026.
Funding Amount: Grants range from R1.00 up to R50,000.00 per approved applicant.
Target Sectors: Agriculture, Tourism, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Creative Industries, and Manufacturing.
Primary Objective: To assist enterprises in procuring essential machinery, tools, and equipment to enhance productive capacity, competitiveness, and job creation.
Submission Venue: Physical application forms must be hand-delivered to the LED Offices at the Stilfontein Civic Centre.

Kwalata Camping & Hiking 2026 Event at Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve
The Marketing and Tourism Section under the LED Directorate hosted the 3-day Kwalata Camping & Hiking 2026 event at the Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve from 11 to 13 September 2026.
The itinerary began on Friday, 11 September, with camper registrations, site setups, safety briefings, and evening fireside storytelling. Activities on Saturday, 12 September, featured sunrise aerobics, guided hiking trails of 3.6km, 5km, and 10km, and evening public entertainment. The formal opening was led by Ms. Tebogo Ramone, Assistant Director for LED, who spoke on the role of outdoor recreation in promoting healthy living, environmental conservation, and local tourism growth. The event was organized with support from private and public sector partners including DEDECT, Red Bull, Sammambu, VW, Silverkruin Guesthouse, 4x4 MEGA, and Overland Cash and Carry.

Municipal Infrastructure Maintenance Operations
The Technical & Infrastructure Directorate performed targeted repair work and drainage maintenance in several areas. Completed projects include:

Cleaned stormwater catchpit in Shakespeare Street, Orkney.
Constructed a broken stormwater wall at the corner of Knowels and Monica Street, Klerksdorp.
Cleared stormwater drains at the corner of Kock and Enoch Sotonga Streets, New Town, Klerksdorp.
Cleaned stormwater catchpit in Masekhane Street, Kanana.
Cleared drains and replaced cover slabs at the corner of Mokgethi, Majova, and Church Streets.
Replaced stormwater cover slabs in Tshepo Street, Kanana.
Road Repairs:
Patched potholes in Phelandaba Street, Jouberton.
Repaired road surfaces along Monica Street and the Knowels intersection in Klerksdorp.
Completed pothole patching in Buffelsdoorn.
Executed road repair work in Silvia Benjamin Street, Extension 2, Jouberton.
Temporary Water Supply Interruption in Stilfontein
On 14 September 2026, the municipality issued a emergency notice regarding a water supply interruption affecting the entire area of Stilfontein. The outage was caused by a pipe burst on the main supply line feeding the Mooi Street Tower. Municipal technical teams were deployed to the site to undertake repairs, with system restoration scheduled following the completion of work.
