September 17: Honoring 51 Years of Service – Dr. Thomas S. Chambers Retires
Thursday marked a poignant milestone in Potchefstroom’s medical history. After five decades of dedicated community care, world-renowned chiropractor Dr. Thomas S. Chambers officially closed the doors of his practice at 91 Du Plooy Street on Friday, 18 September 2026.
Dr. Thomas began serving the Potchefstroom community in 1975. At 88 years of age, he wraps up a remarkable 51-year career driven by passion, wisdom, and genuine care for his patients.
The Go-To Guy extends our deepest gratitude to Dr. Thomas for his decades of service, wishing him a wonderful and blessed retirement!
September 17: Pure Magic at Hoërskool Die Wilge’s "Candyland" Eisteddfod!
Also on Thursday, the air was filled with creativity and youthful enthusiasm as Hoërskool Die Wilge hosted their highly anticipated 2026 Eisteddfod under a colorful "Candyland" theme!
Learners from multiple participating schools sang, danced, and acted their hearts out on stage. The Go-To Guy spoke with the teaching team behind the scenes to capture the immense work required to pull off such a successful event.
