Carletonville Designer Takes Blekzwearz Fashion Brand to National and International Stages

 Founded on the principles of creativity, craftsmanship, and personal expression, the brand produces a range of attire spanning custom occasion wear to runway pieces.

The label’s international visibility increased following recognition at the Annual Glitz Awards, where a Botswana-based client wearing a dress created by Micheal was named Best Dressed of the Evening. Moving forward, Micheal is scheduled to dress prominent guests at an upcoming international awards ceremony.

In addition to expanding his client base, Micheal has integrated local community initiatives into his work. He participates in The Matric Experience, a campaign designed to assist top-performing matric students across Merafong with their farewell celebrations.

Blekzwearz was also officially welcomed into The Next Opulent Model South Africa (OMSA) family as one of its featured designers for 2026. The Next OMSA operates as a premier modeling and fitness competition focused on scouting and developing talent across various experience levels. The platform’s Grand Finale, centered on the theme "Reputation," will take place on Thursday, August 20, at the Sun Bet Arena at Time Square. The event is presented by Sun International and hosted by Johan Ungerer Signature Events along with partner sponsors.

For Micheal, the association with platforms like The Next OMSA marks a significant milestone in his career. Beyond growing his brand, the designer aims to represent Merafong on larger stages and demonstrate to aspiring local creators that regional origins can serve as a foundation for broader opportunities.
