August 12: First-Time Geesfees Magic – Catching Up with Tiaan
On Wednesday, festival anticipation took over. The build-up to Potch Geesfees 2026 is reaching fever pitch, and The Go-To Guy sat down for a lighthearted chat with local resident Tiaan to hear a fresh perspective.
Despite living in town, 2026 marks the very first year Tiaan is attending the massive festival at Lekwena Wildlife Estate! August 14: Shaping the Future of Township Arts – The CAC Impact Assessment at Promosa Secondary
Over in Promosa and Ikageng, Friday was defined by vital cultural development and grassroots youth advocacy. The Go-To Guy team joined the Community Arts Centers (CAC) delegation during their official visit to Promosa Secondary School.
The primary focus of this high-level meeting was to table and unpack the Impact Assessment Report on Community Arts Centres in the North West Province:
Part 1 (The Vision): The team explored how structured arts and culture programs serve as essential pillars for youth empowerment, gang violence prevention, and community building across Promosa and Ikageng. Supporting local creative hubs gives young people a constructive platform to hone their talents.
Part 2 (Real Opportunities & Resources): In the second part of our coverage, the discussion shifted from statistics on paper to tangible, ground-level action. The delegation addressed the urgent need for dedicated funding, professional equipment, studio spaces, and mentorship programs for emerging local artists.
